'Under the sea' workshop...

Last Monday, Samantha and I  facilitated a half term holiday workshop at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop, for 8 -12 year olds (13-19s in the afternoon.)  Everyone created wire sea creatures...we had fish, sharks, sea horses, jellyfish, mermaids... these are going to be displayed all together in a collaborative piece somewhere in the WYPW building.  We're helping to make the next generation very very capable in using wire, no matter what they tell you, they like it really!

CAPE UK Creative Summer Scheme.....Swans

It floats!!

So does mine...
Taking shape...
Minor adjustments...
On a journey...
My favorite...
Over the summer I have been working on a ‘CAPE UK’ Creative Family Summer Scheme.
The final day was held in Greenhead Park, Huddersfield. We had glorious weather despite the forecast.  For this day of celebration  I designed a floating swan project. Families each made their own swan to float on the pond.  The idea being they would let them float free with a message of peace.  It did not work out quite as planned, people became attached to their birds. They each made loan test voyages and were then taken home to be kept as pets?

Most importantly the day was enjoyed by all involved.  Many swans did float during the day....just not on mass. They would have frightened the ducks anyway!
